Snapchat brings London's famous Blitz Club to life with museum augmented reality experience
Snapchat's AR Studio Paris has partnered with the Design Museum for the launch of the museum's latest exhibition on the history of the London night club Blitz where the culture of the 1980s began.
London’s 1980s club scene was a revolution in style, and the Blitz Club stood at its center. As part of the museum’s exhibition, visitors can unlock an immersive AR experience that transports them to a Tuesday night at the club. The entrance of the Design Museum will recreate the famous door policy of the club - where only the most creative, stylish, and flamboyant looks were allowed entry.
Visitors will be able to use Snap's technology to virtually try on daring high-fashion looks once worn by the Blitz Kids — a generation that redefined fashion, music, art, and culture.
The spirit of the Blitz lives on, giving today’s audiences a chance to step into one of London’s most influential cultural moments.
The exhibition opens from 20 September 2025 - 29 March 2026.
