Snapchat Introduces Quick Cut

Creating expressive videos should be fast, fun, and accessible to everyone. That’s why we’re introducing Quick Cut, our Lens-powered video creation tool that helps Snapchatters turn their favorite Memories into beat-synced, ready-to-share videos in seconds.

Whether you’re capturing everyday moments or creating your next Spotlight post, Quick Cut makes it easier than ever to create right inside Snapchat.

Quick Cut is available on iOS, with plans to expand to more surfaces and Android devices soon.

With Quick Cut, Snapchatters can now select multiple photos or clips and instantly preview a rendered video–eliminating the old editing flow. Just choose your media and go.

We’ve made Quick Cut easier to find from wherever your content lives. You can now start a Quick Cut directly from Memories and your Camera Roll–and you can also unlock and use Quick Cut when you're inspired by someone else’s creation, allowing you to insert your own media into a Quick Cut shared by another Snapchatter.

To help videos come together even faster, Quick Cut now automatically applies a track from our Sounds library and syncs it to your selected clips. Snapchatters can then customize their creation by exploring the Lens carousel or tapping the Sounds pill to browse additional tracks.

Quick Cut builds on our growing suite of creator tools that make high-quality content production easier than ever. Earlier this year we introduced Timeline Editor, now available in Director Mode, giving creators and Snapchatters alike even more precision when editing clips.

Together, these tools help lower the barrier to video creation–making it easier for anyone to capture, edit, and share stories without ever leaving the app.
