Snapchat and HBO Max Bring the wizarding world to Life

Today, Snapchat is teaming up with HBO Max to bring the wizarding world to Snapchat through new AR Lenses, Chat Wallpapers, Bitmoji fashion, an app icon, and in-person AR experiences rolling out alongside the new HBO Original Series, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

Throughout the season, new experiences will give Snapchatters more ways to step into the story, express their fandom, and share the moment with friends:

• AR Lenses: 12 AR Lenses will roll out throughout the season, giving Snapchatters new ways to step into the story, create, and share with friends.

• Chat Wallpapers: Keep the conversation going after the credits roll with themed Chat Wallpapers, giving fans a fun backdrop to discuss every spell, surprise, and standout moment with friends on Snapchat.

• Bitmoji Fashion: Inspired by the new series, give your Bitmoji their own ticket to Hogwarts with new fashion drops including iconic costumes and wardrobe pieces.

• Snapchat AR Mirrors: Snapchat is bringing the magic IRL with fan events across the U.S. and U.K., featuring Snap Mirrors that let fans try on wizarding world clothing and accessories inspired by their Hogwarts House.

• App Icon: Personalize your app icon and step into the magic of Harry Potter before you even open Snapchat.

“One of the reasons Harry Potter resonates so deeply with fans is its ability to make the extraordinary feel just within reach. As we introduce a new generation to the wizarding world through the HBO Original series, Snapchat is an incredible partner to help extend that sense of discovery beyond the screen, giving fans new ways to engage with the story and bring a bit of that magic into their everyday lives,” said Andrew Meengern, Vice President, HBO & Max Originals Marketing.

“Harry Potter fans have never been shy about representing their House, debating their favorite characters or sharing their love of the series with friends. That kind of personal connection is what makes this partnership so much fun for us,” said Anmol Malhotra, Global Head of Content & Partnerships, Snap Inc. “With HBO Max, we’re building AR experiences and creative tools that give Snapchatters new ways to show off their House pride, put themselves into the world of Harry Potter, and have a little fun with friends as they watch the series.”

Starting today, fans can find Harry Potter-inspired AR Lenses on Harry Potter’s Snapchat (@harrypotter). More experiences, including Bitmoji fashion drops and Chat Wallpapers will roll out as the season unfolds. 👻🪄

The HBO Original series Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone will debut Christmas 2026, streaming exclusively on HBO Max.
