To celebrate the release of The Outer Worlds 2 1 — the sequel to the first-person sci-fi RPG from Obsidian Entertainment — Xbox and Snapchat partnered to build Snapchat’s first-ever AR Lens that can scan the moon and transform it into the game’s beloved mascot, Moon Man.
Utilizing innovative celestial tracking technology and your phone’s compass, the new Outer Worlds 2 Lens allows fans to scan the moon from anywhere, in any weather and lighting condition. Watch the Moon Man come to life with his signature smirk, wink, and irreverent charm and see exciting stories playing out across the night sky. What’s more — flip the camera and see yourself transformed into the Moon Man.
This collaboration also comes to life with a custom, one-of-a-kind telescope that is inspired by in-game items from Auntie's Choice and powered by Snapchat AR tech. Peer inside, point the telescope at the moon, and watch the Moon Man come alive.
