Snap is a leader in augmented reality, with world-class technology and over 250 million people engaging with our AR every day, on average.
We believe that AR – digital content overlaid on the real world – represents a profound technological paradigm shift that is going to significantly impact businesses across nearly every industry, and that companies and brands that adopt a winning AR strategy will enjoy a meaningful competitive advantage in the coming years.
Through Snapchat's AR technology, we have seen the evolution of AR from just entertainment and self-expression, to true utility for both consumers and businesses. And, naturally, brands need to be able to engage with their customers beyond Snapchat and across platforms, including through their own apps and websites.
Today, we're excited to introduce AR Enterprise Services (ARES), a new way for businesses to integrate Snap's AR technology suite into their own apps, websites and physical locations – transforming the way they engage with consumers and drive better business results.
Our first offering for ARES is the Shopping Suite, which provides AR Try-On, 3D Viewer, Fit Finder, and more – directly on merchants’ own apps and websites. Shopping Suite is available today, and currently includes AR shopping for fashion, apparel, accessories, and home furnishings. The suite includes:
Dedicated services and support: Businesses can leverage dedicated services for AR Asset creation and robust technical implementation support. The Shopping Suite’s AR asset creation services help businesses create digital versions of their apparel, footwear and eyewear products using proprietary photogrammetry hardware, and machine learning creation pipelines to deliver high fidelity assets optimised for end user performance.
Enterprise tools to manage assets and integrations: Businesses can manage and optimise their AR assets and integrations, measure performance analytics, and receive dedicated Shopping Suite support.
Experience delivery: Businesses can integrate our AR Try-On, Fit Finder and interactive 3D Viewer technology into their own apps and websites, offering shoppers the ability to receive accurate fit and sizing recommendations, try-on or view products in augmented reality, and interact with products in 3D.
Through this offering, shoppers around the world will get to enjoy a more immersive and personalised online shopping experience, with a suite of advanced tools that will help them find the right product with certainty.
More than 300 customers are already using some combination of Shopping Suite features, and we’re already seeing promising results from early customers:
Goodr leveraged AR Try-On and interactive 3D Viewer technology to replicate the experience of in-store shopping on customers’ mobile devices, and saw an 81% uplift in add-to-cart and 67% uplift in conversion for mobile device users, leading to a 59% increase in revenue per visitor (Snap Inc. internal data 15 March - 15 August 2022).
Princess Polly incorporated Fit Finder and AR Try-On features to deliver recommendations to over 7.5 million shoppers who had a 24% reduced return rate than shoppers not using the technology (Snap Inc. internal data 1 July 2020 - 31 October 2022).
Gobi Cashmere’s conversion rate was 4X higher for shoppers using fit and sizing recommendations and AR Try-On features, helping provide personalised experiences to 1 in 4 of shoppers. (Snap Inc. internal data 1 September 2022- 31 October 2022)
This venture is led by Jill Popelka, who joined Snap as Head of AR Enterprise Services, and is building a global team that spans strategy, customer experience, sales, product, product marketing, customer support, and ecosystem development.
We look forward to bringing more customers closer to AR to transform their business and making the shopping journey more engaging for consumers around the world with AR Enterprise Solutions!
