Matt Friend to Host Snapchat’s First-Ever Snappys Awards Show

Snapchat today announced The Snappys Awards Show, our first-ever flagship awards show dedicated exclusively to celebrating the creators shaping culture on Snapchat.
Designed as a creator-first recognition moment, The Snappys will honor creative excellence, cultural impact, and community-building across the platform–spotlighting Snap Stars spanning entertainment, comedy, music, sports, beauty, and more.
Taking place on March 31 at Snapchat’s Santa Monica headquarters, The Snappys will bring together creators, industry leaders, and special guests for an evening focused on the voices, stories, and creativity resonating most with our community. The show will be hosted by comedian and Snap Star Matt Friend, who has built his own community on Snapchat and will bring his signature voice and comedic flair to the evening.

“Snapchat has always been the place where I can be completely myself–it’s where some of the most creative, original voices are building real communities every single day. I’ve grown up on this platform, so getting to host The Snappys Awards Show and celebrate the creators who are shaping comedy, music, sports, and everything in between feels full circle. It’s going to be a night that’s very Snapchat: unexpected, unfiltered, and all about Snap Stars.”

As part of the evening, Snapchat will honor DJ Khaled with the Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing his lasting cultural impact and influence as a creator, artist, and entrepreneur.
Creators will be recognized across honors like Spotlight MVP, Best Storyteller, and Breakout Creator of the Year, alongside awards celebrating excellence across fashion, beauty, sports, music, food, and games—and additional categories spanning collaboration, comedy, and cultural impact. Together, these honors reflect the many ways creators spark conversations, build community, and define culture on Snapchat. The Snappys reinforces Snapchat’s ongoing commitment to celebrating creators not just as users, but as artists, entertainers, and cultural leaders.

“The Snappys Awards Show is a reflection of how powerful the creator community on Snapchat has become,” said Head of Content Partnerships Jim Shepherd. “The Snap Stars we’re honoring aren’t just entertaining audiences–they’re driving conversations, building businesses, and shaping culture. This show represents our long-term commitment to giving creators meaningful recognition and real opportunity as they continue to define what’s next.”
More details–from nominees to moments from the show–will roll out in the weeks ahead as we build toward the first-ever Snappys Awards Show. 👻
