Introducing New Lens Studio Tools to Build Your Own Bitmoji Games

Lens Studio empowers our vibrant community of over 400,000 AR creators, developers, and teams ¹ to seamlessly build and publish Lenses across Snapchat, mobile and web apps, and Spectacles. We’re constantly adding new features to fuel creativity, including features like Easy Lens, which makes it possible to build Lenses in a matter of minutes, and has been used to create over 10,000 Lenses since it went into early testing in mid-December last year ².

Now with the latest Lens Studio 5.10 release, we’re introducing the new Bitmoji Suite and new Games assets to make it easier than ever for AR developers to build games. Alongside Lens Studio 5.10, we’re launching a new collection of single-player and turn-based Bitmoji Game Lenses like Bitmoji Bistro and Bitmoji Buckets, right on Snapchat for our community to play and challenge their friends in, and to inspire developers to create games of their own. 

Bitmoji Suite

Bitmoji Suite brings new capabilities for personalizing and animating Bitmoji, following the release of the Friends API and Bitmoji components in Lens Studio. Creators can now design custom outfits for Bitmoji, generate Bitmoji-stylized props, and animate Bitmoji using our library. This suite integrates seamlessly with Games components found in the Asset Library for creating engaging Bitmoji Game Lenses.

Games Assets

The new and updated Games components in the Asset Library offer a seamless way to build dynamic games for Snapchatters. New assets include a turn-based component to encourage back and forth play between friends, Character Controller, a modular and customizable movement system to support various gameplay formats, and updates to the Leaderboard including templates for start and end screens, a standardized and hybrid view of friends and global scores, and added friends metrics.

We’re excited about all of the ways to reward our community of AR creators and developers for their creativity. Starting on June 3rd, developers can register for a chance to win cash prizes for using Bitmoji Suite and Games assets with our Bitmojiverse Challenge. Since launching monthly Challenge Tags earlier this year, hundreds of developers all over the world have participated to showcase their creativity and talent. And, Lens Creators can earn monetary rewards through our Lens Creator Rewards program by creating eligible, high-performing Lenses for Snapchat.
