Snap opens new office in Paris

Reaffirming our commitment to the French tech and creative ecosystem

Snap is excited to announce the opening of its new office in Paris. This strategic development confirms Snap’s strong presence in France and reaffirms its long-term commitment to innovation, creativity, and the growth of the local digital ecosystem. The opening of this new 4,000-square-meter office in the heart of Paris marks a new milestone for Snap and its more than 100 employees in France, designed to foster synergy and creativity within its teams!

A substantial, engaged audience

Established in France since 2016, Snapchat has seen solid growth, driven by a large, loyal, and increasingly diverse audience. With millions of French Snapchatters logging in every month, 1 the app has become a key player in the French digital landscape.

France stands out as one of the most dynamic and strategic markets for Snap globally, with a rich ecosystem of partnerships: Numerous local media outlets, major cultural institutions, influential creators, and iconic brands trust us to activate large-scale campaigns and partnerships.

A key player in the French AR ecosystem

In 2021 at the Choose France Summit, Evan Spiegel, co-founder and CEO of Snap, committed to establishing France's first augmented reality (AR) excellence center. AR Studio Paris serves as an incubator for projects with educational, cultural, or societal dimensions, through non-commercial partnerships with renowned institutions such as the Louvre, Château de Chantilly, and iconic artists like Daft Punk, as well as dedicated training programs.

A true engine of innovation, our AR Studio Paris brings together local talent — VFX artists, 3D designers, engineers, and creatives — who design impactful AR experiences.

By contributing to the development of the local ecosystem with creative studio partners like Busterwood and Atomic Design, it helps support and showcase French creative expertise in AR.

"France is a hub for innovation, culture, and creativity. By inaugurating this new office, we reaffirm our commitment to making France a cornerstone of our global strategy. Through our AR Studio Paris, we have not only developed cutting-edge AR experiences but also contributed to energizing the local creative and technological job market. With this new office, Snap aims to continue its mission: to build a platform where visual communication, immersive technology, and creativity come together to transform the way we interact with the world."

Grégory Gazagne, General Manager of Snap France

An inauguration blending technology and art

To celebrate the opening of its new office in Paris, our AR Studio Paris invited the artist Charles Pétillon, known for his immersive installations combining art, light, and technology, to create an original work symbolizing the meeting of the real and virtual worlds. This creation also marks the launch of our AR Studio Paris’ artistic residency program: a unique space dedicated to cultural and technological experiences, through collaborations with contemporary artists.

This program will welcome a select group of artists each year from various disciplines — design, visual arts, music, sculpture, etc. — to imagine, with the support of the AR developer community, immersive works designed to be experienced through Snap’s AR glasses, Spectacles.
