Snapchat Recap 2025
Your Year In A Snap
December is always a time to celebrate and reflect on the moments, the laughs, and the friends who made the year unforgettable.
To help Snapchatters revisit their favorite Memories from 2025, today, we’re dropping this year’s Snapchat Recap. The Snapchat Recap is a short video, individualized for every Snapchatter, with highlights from their Snaps, Stories, and Chats, offering a one-of-a-kind look at how they connected, communicated, and expressed themselves throughout the year.
Across the board, 2025 was defined by friendship, creativity, and connection. From quick chats to long calls and everything in between, friends showed up for each other in more ways than ever.
Here’s a look at some of the standout trends that captured how Snapchatters stayed close in 2025:

Talking Made a Comeback
Despite what the internet says, the phone call isn’t dead! In fact, talking on Snapchat kept climbing, whether through voice notes, voice calls, or video chats. Globally, Snapchatters talked for nearly 1.7 billion minutes every day on average — that’s nearly 30% more than last year. 1 And in the U.S. alone, over 5 billion voice notes were sent in 2025 — that’s nearly 10% more than last year! 2Turns out, hearing someone’s voice is still one of the most powerful ways to stay connected.

The Mundane is Meaningful
Long gone are the days when you needed a big reason to reach out. Today, 40% of Gen Z Snapchatters interpret Snaps of random moments as a signal that you want to become closer friends. 3 In 2025, casual is cool when it comes to staying connected.

Visuals Spoke Louder Than Words
Features that offer quick ways of adding context, emotion, and humor are the norm. For example, Chat Reactions grew by 44% this year. 4The ❤️ took the crown as the most popular of them all, 5 a universal shorthand for love, hype, and affirmation. 3 million more people also used stickers to communicate with friends this year, 6 another quick and visually expressive format to communicate more with less.

Pop Culture Infiltrated the Chat
From viral hairstyles to trending stickers, trends shaped how people represented themselves and communicated online this year. The most requested Bitmoji-inspired hairstyles of 2025 included the slicked-back bun, broccoli hair, and curtain bangs — a snapshot of the year’s top looks. And the 6/7 Bitmoji Sticker broke records to become the most-used sticker since its launch. 7

Another Big Year for the Group Chat
The group chat was the heart of the action — where inside jokes were born and friendships stayed strong. Across the board, the number of people who send messages to group chats grew by more than 5% in 2025, 8 and some of the chattiest Snapchatters sent more than 8,880 messages to their top Group Chat this year. 9 That’s a lot of catching up!
Happy holidays, and happy Snapping!
